چکیده
We introduce a new model for dark energy in the universe in which a small cosmological constant is generated by ordinary electromagnetic vacuum energy. The corresponding virtual photons exist at all frequencies but switch from a gravitationally active phase at low frequencies to a gravitationally inactive phase at higher frequencies via a Ginzburg-Landau type of phase transition. Only virtual photons in the gravitationally active state contribute to the cosmological constant. A small vacuum energy density, consistent with astronomical observations, is naturally generated in this model. We propose possible laboratory tests for such a scenario based on phase synchronisation in superconductors.

Quantum model of homogeneous and isotropic universe predicts logarithmic-law dependence of coordinate distance to source on redshift z which is in good agreement with type Ia supernovae and radio galaxies observations for the redshift range z = 0.01 − 1.8. Comparison with phenomenological models with dark energy in the form of cosmological constant and without dark energy component is made. Flu...

Dynamics of relativistic outflows along the rotation axis of a Kerr black hole is investigated using a simple model that takes into account the relativistic tidal force of the central source as well as the Lorentz force due to the large-scale electromagnetic field which is assumed to be present in the ambient medium. The evolution of the speed of the flow relative to the ambient medium is studi...

The possibility that the present acceleration of the universe is driven by a kind of viscous fluid is exploited. At background level this model is similar to the generalized Chaplygin gas model (GCGM). But, at perturbative level, the viscous fluid exhibits interesting properties. In particular the oscillations in the power spectrum that plagues the GCGM are not present. Possible fundamental des...
